Theme for February 2nd, 2008: “Narrow”
There’s a sometimes narrow line between “cute” and “freakin’ dorky.”
Looks like I crossed it somewhere between these two ages.
Wearing Calvin Klein, and actually making it look BAD.
And, apparently, I had not learned to appreciate the fine art of brushing my hair, either.

I like that adorable lotus picture- it’s a heck of a lot better than a couple i have floating around here. Seriously don’t complain you could be like the kid on the one show whose school picture invovled the assistant holding a sign in front of his face….

Honestly, I think the two pics are equally cute. You should see the huge 80’s bangs in all of my childhood pics. The worst part is that my childhood took place in the nineties. In my defense, my mom did it to me.

Over here in Australia elementary school is called primary school. I don’t have any primary school photos of myself. Mum and Dad separated when I was 7, when I got old enough to ask about the photos (about 35 I think) Mum said Dad had them, Dad said Mum had them. Both parents have since died and the photos have never surfaced.

I have a picture of myself wearing a babyshit yellow ribbed turtle neck with red and blue plaid bell-bottom pants. I’m pretty sure this was a stunning fashion ensemble brought us by Grranimals (or however that was spelled). All I can believe is that somewhere, deep down my mom hates me.

Hey! My dorky pictures are ‘way dorkier than your dorky pictures. In most of mine I either have a tear in my clothing or I have something on backward. And that’s in addition to the messy hair and less-than-spotless appearance.

Awwwwww! I have not seen a bad pic of you yet! You are the only woman I know who could still look good with a green bean shoved up her nostril.
Now these childhood pics are evidence that you always were just that cute. I’ve had pigtail pics with no front teeth, a pic with poison ivy broken out on my face, a mullet, a feathered mullet, a bad perm, another bad perm, hair dye gone wrong, closed eyes, broken glasses, you name it. I am the queen of bad pics.
