I happened upon your blog via Google and I loved this entry. I got my nose pierced for the 1st time on April 8th 2010...my then/now 4yo's due date. It was my way of commemorating that day even if she wasn't born until 4 days after it.

You look gorgeous-it suits you. Good for you! :)

(Btw-the inside of my piercing is crusty and I can't quite kick it. It sucks but I refuse to remove my nose "bone")

Hey, I was wondering lately where to get "green" gold. Especially for earrings or nose ring jewelry that is going through our bodies? Does is matter for health reasons? I'm not sure how that side of greenness affects jewelry. But at least we'd know it's better for the earth, I guess. I heard that http://www.rebekahgreen.com is coming out with a green earring line. That should be cool. I look forward to them launching.

Hi, Lotus - I stumbled on your site when I was googling other moms w/ their nose pierced. I've wanted one since I was in college but didn't b/c I was chicken. Then I worked at a fortune 100 corporation right out of school that definitely didn't allow it which sucked b/c by then I was ready to do it - was even stated in the company policy document that it wasn't allowed. So in my 20's while working there, I had super short spikey hair all bed-headed up and worked there as a manager and no one blinked (although they probably did inside) which is funny b/c I think that's much more drastic than a nose piercing! Anyway, I'm 37 now and quit working there 3 years ago when my daughter was born and I got it pierced on V-day and LOVE it. My husband was all for it. When I looked in the mirror for the first time, I just felt like it belonged and wished I had done it sooner. Now what I find amusing is the response or lack of response from my friends and aquaintances. My conservative suburban mom friends don't say anything (like an elephant in the room, right?) and my cooler liberal friends are the ones that bring it up at least even if they may not like it. I just don't get what the big deal is - I think it looks beautiful. Why are people so freaked out by them? By the way, have you tried earrings made w/ titanium? I got my piercing at a place in Atlanta and they use titanium (which I have in my nose) b/c the body is less likely to reject it: http://piercing.org/shop/index.htm. They really only have studs for your ears but that's better than nothing.
