• Giggle, guffaw and snort.

I admit that six years in Florida has made me soft and well, these temperatures are COLD for me! I sympathize with everyone else, because at one time, I did feel the friggin cold temperatures they’re experiencing now.

    Thanks for the laugh!

  • I dunno about you, but having living in both Texas & Tennessee, I’ve learned that cold is not just relative to the person but also to the location.

Because, like, here? I can go out in the upper 30s in just a sweatshirt and be fine. At least for awhile. But, dang it, go down to Texas, and I am FREEZING at 50 degrees!

So, yeah, people who say stuff like that need to get out more. Try someone else’s climate on for awhile.

  • When I was teaching (eons ago) one of the other teachers had just moved from Wisconsin to San Antonio. She said she just didn’t understand how the mid 30’s could feel so damn cold. Also having spent the last two winters in Germany I will tell you there is a difference between wet cold and dry cold. 33 and drizzling feels MUCH MUCH colder than 26 and snowing because all the wet that seeps through your clothes and steals the warmth is frozen at 26. the nice thing is it is Texas should be warm by this time next week! Go have some hot cocoa while you wait.

  • Great post! That bugs me. I am in NC and there are so many northern transplants who piss and moan that the south doesn’t know what cold is and that the south doesn’t know how to clear the roads. Sorry, they don’t have to most of the time. I am a transplant too but you rarely hear me bitch about the weather here. Coming from WI it is heaven most days.

  • You think that’s an opinion? Hell, I’ll show you an opinion, you haven’t seen an opinion until you’ve seen MY opinion.

  • LOL! Definitely enjoyed this one…so very true. It’s annoying…but soo many people do it (and not just about weather!!)

Holding my fist up in solidarity with you

  • That sounds like every Iowan I’ve ever known. They like to stroll around in zero degree weather with no coats on and claim it’s not cold at all. A-holes.

  • Can I just say that it’s cold here for even here. *shiver*

And I’d like to add someone else who should punch themselves in the face before speaking. I hate that little troll of a weatherman who seems to enjoy reporting just how cold & snowy it’s going to be.

  • I just want it to be warm again, dammit.

  • Did you hack my facebook and read my friend feed? lol

The wind is biting (here) today even though it’s a whopping 34 degrees. I went out to feed the birds, not knowing it was windy, and thought I was going to freeze in place when the wind hit me.

  • You know this is funny. I’m in Ohio, and trust me it gets freakin cold…but then you get someone who’s from Michigan a state above us…and they’ll let us know how much colder it can get. Whatev. THEN, okay so it’s snowing here yesterday…duh, it snows here all winter long, EVERY winter…and the weather guy interrupts OPRAH during BON JOVI to tell us..hey guess what IT’S SNOWING. pisses me off. :) I’d like to punch that guy in the face.
