I know that kids must
suffer colds, flus, and other
ailments – it’s normal.
But I can’t stand to
see my little Bean so ill…
snotty, whiny, sad.
He coughs, gags, sniffles…
sneezes make his eyes water.
He’s tired, frustrated.
He comes to us and
all he wants is to be held;
cuddles up closely.
His eyes speak to me,
“Mommy, make it stop hurting.”
My heart is breaking.

I hope he feels much better soon. I’ll keep him in my prayers.
I can relate~both my boys have been sick this week~Justin has croup & Kendall has strep throat
Kendall has been coming up to me often, looking @ me w/the most pitiful look ever & says, “Mommy, please hold me” 
So, I’ve taken advantage of all the extra hugs & snuggles & am doing all I can do as their Mommy to help them get better

We just did a week long cold too. It’s horrible when they feel so sick, but there is nothing you can do.

Oh honey, I know the feeling – both ours have had this flu-ish type cold that’s going around too. It’s heartbreaking not being able to just take it all away, isn’t it?

I always hate when our kids get sick. I always feel helpless to do much of anything. On the bright side, they are always cuddlier than normal.
One time when my oldest was sick with a cold, we snuggled on the couch together and watched Barney video at least five times in a row. (The snuggling thing does have its downside).
I hope that Braden gets better soon, for his health and your sanity.

OK, I know you are into “green” things. Not sure if you’ve dabbled with homeopathic remedies at all?
Those watery eyes and your description sounds like he has what my Max had recently. Get yourself to a Whole Foods or a natural pharmacy and get Boiron pellets: Alium Cepa

Poor kid. Sometimes, when our boys got like that, I’d set up a nice warm shower and take whichever one was suffering in there with me. The trick is to do it without getting the room all steamy – there’s enough moisture in the lungs already – but the hot shower could loosen things up a bit.

So sorry your little one is suffering. I can sypathize with you because I’ve felt the same heartbreak helplessness of having a sick child and I’ve felt like Braden — please, just make the hurt go away.
