  • While they aren’t “dangerous” they aren’t tame either! LOL I used to think they were harmless too until I got bitten by one!

My PSA for the day! :)

    Jumping spiders
The jumping spider is probably the most common biting spider in the United States. People are caught by surprise and scared when they see the spider jump, especially if it jumps towards them. Bites from a jumping spider are painful, itchy and cause redness and significant swelling. Other symptoms may include painful muscles and joints, headache, fever, chills, nausea and vomiting. The symptoms usually last about 1-4 days.

But I do love the pictures, though the eyes skeeve me out! EWWW!!!

      Well done!

I am rather careful with them, so no worries. I’m not like, ACTUALLY french kissing them or anything. 😉

  • Those pics are FANTASTIC. You get better with every click of the shutter love.

But keep the crawlies to yourself next time, would you.

I deal with a handsy little hair ball every day. I call him my husband.

    • @Redneck Mommy,

Heh. Are you feeling itchy now?

I have onna those thingies at my house, too. And damnit if he didn’t just decide to grow out his facial hair again. That in-between stage is rather unpleasant, what with the PIERCING quality his face now has.

      January 31, 2009
  • ROFL! What a cute spider! (Did I just say that?) Great pics, I’ll have to employ that tactic the next time I see a scorpion running around my hood. Before I squish him dead of course…..

  • Tranny Head

Ok – so when I was on my honeymoon, I was blissfully sleeping next to my hubby at the butt crack of dawn in a remote cabin in Alaska when I felt something sting me. I thought it was a bee and I was all “wtf” about it and I even thought, “meh – I wonder if I can roll over and ignore this or if I have to get up.” And I figured if there was some bee in the bed I should probably get up. And I reached down and grabbed at my leg where it had been stung and something hairy was there and I threw it on the floor. When I turned on the light, I discovered it was a giant wolf spider (yes, it was big enough that I thought it was a bee). I haven’t been as up-close and personal with a spider since my honeymoon.

    So .. um .. thanks (I guess?)

*Sigh* Spiders make my skin crawl so I wont be trying to photograph any, I bet I can find something else vile to photograph though!
