Jabba’s such an idiot.
I’m sick. AGAIN. But hey, I got one whole week of not being sick, so I should really stop being such a freaking complainer. I mean, one week is over 600, 000 (604,800 to be exact) seconds.
See? Total whiner. I had OVER 600,000 seconds of being Unsick! I would do a victory dance, but I’M SICK AND I’D PROBABLY PASS OUT.
So, the point is, I feel like a dog turd that someone hammered with a mallet and then set on fire in front of Jabba the Hut’s door, and he fell for the gag, so he stomped me out with his slimy tail-thing. A hammered, burnt, slimy shit.
Because I feel so lame, and also because YAY, JOHN IS HOME!!!, there is no way I can sit here writing for very long right now. It’s pathetic how often I feel that sticky, tickling sensation of snot crawling towards my upper lip from my left nostril. And if I keep sitting here typing, I’m just going to keep saying things like that to you, and really, is that what you feel like reading on your Monday? I think not.
So, I want you all to know a couple of things. One is that since the birth of Project Support Beauty in Nature, we’ve been having a lot of fun thinking of ways to green up our lives around here, and we’re pretty proud of it. We’ve been doing new things, and we have plans for more new things as time goes by (some new things cost money, so we’re taking it slow). Your posts on February 11th were so great! Truly inspiring, informative, and insightful.
I’ve decided to do a PSBN post once a month, on the second Monday of the month. I’ll talk about ways we’ve “Gone Green” and give any info I think migh be helpful to others. I’ll also keep you updated on any Clean Up Projects we take on. It will always have a “linky” at the end, and I really hope that you will be inspired to do your own posts, and link up here. (So, see, if you “missed out” last time, you have a chance to get in on the action every month!)
The snot is running again. *slurp*
The other thing I wanted to mention is that Marie suggested I re-post my story about my breastfeeding difficulties with Braden, and Kat suggested I do it as a linked-in thing. I loved both ideas, and so that’s just want I want to do.
I’d like to do two of these sort of things. The first one will be all about Breastfeeding. I’ll tell my story, and I encourage you to do the same. If you don’t feel like telling your story, but you have great tips or information to share, or any kind of breastfeeding antecdotes, you can write a post about those.
I’ll tell you guys when I plan to post, and you can all do the same and link up. That day we can all travel around and visit with one another, sharing our Boobie Stories.
My rack loves being talked about anyway.

The second one will be about Birth Stories. I love reading about other people’s experiences with delivery. Don’t you? Ever watch that Baby Story show? I was glued to that thing while I was pregnant with Braden. So, again, I’ll let everyone know before I post it, so you can write up yours/repost yours, and link in! We’ll have a big, hormonal, Birth-Story Love Fest! Awww!
Do me a favor: Let me know some stuff. I want to see what kind of interest there is in these things, so tell me which of these you’d be willing to participate in:
Monthly PSBN postings, Breastfeeding Carnival, Birth-Story Carnival.
Okay, that was my long, slightly boring, definitely whiney, Sick Lotus Post.
Please forgive me. Or send chocolates. Whichever you feel more moved to do.

Allison (aka AngelGal)
Can’t send chocolates (or some less fattening goodies) if you don’t SEND ME YOUR ADDRESS. Which I asked for. When you weren’t sick.
Anyhow.
I’m all for a breastfeeding and/or birth story sharing session. I think we are nearing the end of our breastfeeding relationship—that’s right, my boy is almost 3, and I’m now starting to wean him. Actually, it’s almost a natural thing. Like, naturally it would hurt eventually, since he has teeth. His latch has been slipping for a while *sigh*
But I’m a mommy that’s all for extending breastfeeding—-nature isn’t totally wrong in the fact that we still CAN do it this long (and much longer) out, or any of the millions of other things that COME naturally, but people have just chosen not to follow. (end rant here)
So, let me know! I’ll definitely jump in!

sounds like fun. although at my advanced age, it would take an act of god to remember back to the birth or breastfeeding days.

I’m interested in ANY kind of story sharing session you care to post about. If I can dredge up any memories I’ll share through the comments page.
P.S. I was okay reading this until the “slurp”. Had to put the remains of my dinner in the bin. I was full anyway so don’t feel too bad.

i’ll hop on board for all three. going green might be the hardest thing to do – takes commitment and motivation – but i can definitely blog as if i’m doing it
boobs and birth? totally my area. as long as we’re bitching. there’ll be some bitching, right?
on a related topic, ever thought of sharing early pregnancy woes? i’ve put a few up lately and they really get a reaction – which makes me wonder if i was a crazy anomaly.

of course, it goes without saying (as i did), that you should get better soon and take as much vitamin v as you need to stay disinfected and pain free!

definately a PSBN I breastfed for both mine till they were three… Wow that sounds a bit funny now that they are both taller than me.. hehehehe
hope you get betterer soon lotus.. Lemon and honey drinks for you.. but dont put boiling water onto the freshly squeezed lemon juice cause it kills all the goodies..
honey into the boiling water first then a minute later add the lemon juice.. good stuff..
have a mustard foot bath just before you go to bed 2 TBS of mustard powder into water as hot as you can stand it.. soak your feet.. then put on socks whilst your feet are still all toasty and straight to bed…

Yucky sick! Are you taking anything? Echinacea? Vit C? Regular vitamin? Echinacea will knock a cold out in 2 less days give or take. Ask me about crunchy stuff if you want to know LOL
I talk about boobs all the time. I’d love to participate in a carnival. I need to “document” my breastfeeding stories for both kids, so it would be good for me. Oh, and I’m game with birth. I know I have at least one kids story already written!

I can’t give any info on the breastfeeding as I never managed it with Zack and, well, Max was BORN WITH A TOOTH. I don’t care how selfish I sound but JUST NO!
I recently came across a draft of post I wrote of a forum I belonged to while pregnant with Zack, telling of his arrival so I’ll probably post that sometime soon…

Yucky sick…
I don’t have kids, but I love birth stories and breastfeeding stories. I know this may sound incredibly odd. But if you knew me, you’d know that I just like to learn. And that, at some point, I’d love to be certified to be a doula or something.
So bring ‘em on.

Ok, I just wanted to say that this post made me smile for a couple reasons and none are the fact that you are sick. First, get better. Second, the turd-Jabba-the-hut thing, awesome. Third, your list of carnival posts sound eerirely similar to what ladies talk about in every co-ed playgroup I have ever attended. Breast Feeding and their pregnancies…LOL. I just had to recount my playgroup mammories…memories, not a bad thing, just quirky to me and a reason why guys and gals are different but cool. Rock on GF.

I am sorry you feel sick
I think all 3 are great idea. Except, I can’t participate in the BFing one. I didn’t. My story would include a mean old “lactation expert” nurse who needed to brush up on her people skills instead of trying to rip my gown off (she was rough) and shoving my baby on me. That, and having no clue what I was supposed to be, and too modest to walk around with my boob out asking for help. By the time I was ready to try again…it was too late. That’s about the extent of my story lol.

Hey lotus, sorry you’re sick. I totally comiserate. I spent 5+ hours in the ER saturday night. They sent me home saying ‘oh your perfectly fine we can’t figure out for the life of us why you feel like someone is twisting a knife in your kidney’. Than they had the gall to call me back yesterday 8 hours after I left to be all ‘oooops we made a mistake you have a kidney stone, have fun!’
I love the BF’ing and Birth story idea! I was actually planning on posting my birth story next monday and tuesday as tuesday(the 4th) is the munchkin’s 2nd birthday *sniffles* well i have to go pace some more!

If you don’t mind stories from the dark ages I’ll gladly share with you my experiences in breast-feeding and birthing. And I love the idea of a monthly post for Nature. Our politicians keep talking about going green, but until Al Gore puts in some solar panels, etc. I’m not buying into politicos as saviors of the planet. Like most other things the war to save our natural resources is going to be won by the mothers who teach/nag their families to make changes in their own little sphere. Many years ago I read a Chinese proverb and loved it. What’s more, I think it applies to so many facets of our existence. “If each man sweeps in front of his door, the street will be clean.”

Definitely the monthly PSBN. We’ve been greening up around our house too, inspired by the first step. I’m adding a little “Going Greener” sidebar with rotating tips, and I’d love to insert a link there to your monthly pages too. And add bigger stories…the more we get the idea around the better, no?
I’d play along for both carnivals, though the birth story one will be more interesting than the breast feeding on (unless anyone wants lots of medical info about how to handle a long-term ductal yeast infection in the boobies). Great ideas.

Dude, I’m all about talking about how much breastfeeding SUCKS the first time around (it’s 1,000,000,000,000 times easier the second. At least for me) and about birth stories. I’m addicted to A Baby Story & what’s that other one called? The one where they bring the baby home? Oh, duh. Bringing Home
