He is so handsome! It made me so sad to read this!!! Thank you for posting this and making us realize that society is full of nasty humans who hide behind keyboards poking fun at a child that none of them would have the guts to say any of that to his face!!!!

  • I actually love love love his teeth like that! He is a kid, come on! He just looks like a fun and happy little dude! I tend to love seeing moms and kids being real instead of filtered or posed. Keep on mama!

Lotus, your son is absolutely handsome ad they come. Some people clearly do not have anything else in life than criticize everything they see.
Their unhappiness runs deep within their soul, leave them where they are, is the best way to deal with them. Delete those comments and carry on. That fantastic smile is, after all, for you.
(I feel where you come from, since today I posted a b&w portrait of my wife, and got a unrepeatable comment , that I promptly deleted. This on G+, of all places )

  • I’ve watched your son grow from a little boy into a young man. Every step of the way, I have marveled at how exuberant he is. His smile and joy are infectious. Anyone who would disparage anything about him, is lacking something in their life. You were right to delete those hateful comments. Negative energy has no place beside his brilliance.

Well considering at the ripe old age of 8 you have not grown into yourself yet, I think some “bunny” teeth can be overlooked, surely ?
Perhaps they need a simple lesson in biology, or perhaps a more intensive lesson on how to be a good human.
He is a great looking kid, I’m just jealous I don’t have his hair 😛

I have an eight-year-old daughter. She has the exact same teeth. My daughter is beautiful. Your son is beautiful. And above are two awesome pictures.

Some people…. That’s all I’m going to say, because I can’t think of the words to finish that sentence without making myself feel ugly.

  • Thank you for sharing this. I imagine it wasn’t easy. I commend you for standing up for yourself and your precious boy.

It’s such a disheartening aspect of being in the world of photography; I’ve found recently (as my business is in its initial stages) there are certain types of people (as you say, “adult humans!”) of whom almost enjoy (yuck) being overly negative in picking apart others’ work. Such a shame.

Before reading your excerpt, I nearly teared up from seeing that image. The radiance and love that is beaming from his eyes makes it clear that the one on the receiving end of that expression is a truly amazing person.

  • It’s not as easy to let you all know that I appreciate your comments as it is on social media sites, after all, you will not receive a notification of my comment here, but I wanted to do so just the same. Thank you reading, for taking the time to comment, for being supportive, for being beautiful, each of you. Thank you.
