Congratulations to our Winner: Kimberly!
*****
Have you ever snuggled up with a good book and been completely pulled into the story?
If you think you’ve been pulled into a story, you don’t know the half of it.
INKHEART is a new movie, starring Brendan Frasier, based on the best-selling novel by Cornelia Funke.
From the Production Notes:
Mortimer “Mo” Folchart (Brendan Fraser) and his 12-year-old daughter,
Meggie (Eliza Hope Bennett), share a passion for books. What they also share is an
extraordinary gift for bringing characters from books to life when they read aloud.
But there is a danger: when a character is brought to life from a book, a real person
disappears into its pages. On one of their trips to a secondhand book shop, Mo hears voices he hasn’t
heard for years, and when he locates the book they’re coming from, it sends a shiver
up his spine. It’s Inkheart, a book filled with illustrations of medieval castles and
strange creatures—a book he’s been searching for since Meggie was three years old,
when her mother, Resa (Sienna Guillory), vanished into its mystical world. But Mo’s plan to use the book to find and rescue Resa is thwarted when
Capricorn (Andy Serkis), the evil villain of Inkheart, kidnaps Meggie and, discovering
she has inherited her father’s gift, demands that she bring his most powerful ally to
life—the Shadow. Determined to rescue his daughter and send the fictional
characters back where they belong, Mo assembles a small group of friends and
family—some from the real world, some from the pages of books—and embarks on
a daring and perilous journey to set things right.
This movie looks and sounds like it is going to be beautiful and fabulous. I LOVE fantasy-like stories such as this one!
Want to go see it? If you leave a comment here before 11:59 PM CST, Friday January 23rd, you’ll have a chance to win a $20 Fandango Gift Card. You can use it to see Inkheart, or any other movie you’d like, in theatres!

Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce

Congratulations to the Winners: OurCrookedTree and Pam!

I love to eat. No two ways about it – I like to cram food in the facehole. And my husband… well, let’s just say this is something we bonded over early in our relationship.
So when Al Malekovic asked me if I’d like to try Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce, I said Hell Yeah! “Yes, please!”
We whipped it out the first time we had chicken after the sauce arrived in the mail and sampled it straight from the bottle. And sometimes, as they say, a picture can say way more than the words we try to use to describe something…
Observe:
After our initial taste test, we poured the sauce over our chicken while it cooked, and then added more once it hit the table. Let me just say, “Mmmm-MM!”
If you’re anything like me, you want to know how you can get your hands on some of this sauce. You can order it directly from the website, anytime.
And if you leave a comment here sometime before January 14, 2009, you have a chance at winning 2 free bottles!
In fact, when comments close on Jan 14th, 2 Winners will be randomly selected to receive 2 Free Bottles!
(you must leave a valid email address on the comment form in order to win)
Get your mouth ready.
Disclosure: This is an uncompensated review. I received 2 bottles of Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce review, free of charge. Later, I was also sent a recipe book, free of charge.
Stick Fun And Learning In With Nourishment!

Congrats to winner: Ang!
Do you always want your kids to feel happy, loved, and content? That’s exactly what Gina Flanagan wanted when she started writing her daughter lunchbox notes with cute and cool drawings on them. She was reacting to the news that her daughter was lonely at lunchtime… but before long, everyone at her lunchtable was waiting to see what “Mom” had put in the lunchbox that day.
This is the origination of “Kid’s Lunchbox Cards.”
Now, they’re still full of great illustrations and funny thoughts, but they always include amazing and interesting trivia that will both entertain and educate your little ones.
Gina sent me a set to check out, and I LOVE them!
They contain the type of trivia and silliness I would have really appreciated as a kid, and that totally endeared them to me.
“In the winter, some frogs can be frozen solid, then in the spring, they thaw out and hop away!”
Freaky! Ok, ok… I STILL enjoy this type of trivia and silliness.
I can see Braden enjoying this type of thing as he gets older, and I bet many of you have kids right now who would enjoy these cards!
