That thing that sometimes eludes us: Happiness. (Now with FEWER spelling errors!)
Okay. This post was up all day with “alludes” instead of “eludes” in the title.
WHY DIDN’T ANYONE CRY, “IDIOT!?”
*ashamed*
************************
Since I really haven’t been doing enough complaining lately (refer to the first part of my site name), I thought I’d mention something to you guys today.
Braden is sick AGAIN.
Yup.
It’s the third time in a month and a half. Previously? He had only ever been sick twice. That’s 15.5 full months of life with only 2 sickies. Then one and a half months with 3 sickies in it.
We Ah Soooo Redeh 2 Git Dah Hellz Outta Heah!
In brighter news, whenever I’m all “WOE IS US!” Braden has a way of showing me things like:
A) The only thing you ever REALLY need in order to feel happy is a naked butt (wearing shoes while having a naked butt really just enhances the experience) and a bag of some sort of chip things.
B) Playing Peekaboo cures what ails ya.
C) If those fail? Playing with the blinds is more than sufficient.
Even when sick… the kid trumps me on seeing the simple things in life. It’s not really that hard to find a little happy every day. As adults, we’ve just forgotten how sometimes.

hey hon –
I’m so sorry y’all are going through this… we had a really sick year when we had a mold problem.
I had no idea y’all were dealing with this. I’ve gotten really really behind on my blog reading and so I had missed the all mention of this. I wish I could do more for you…
praying y’all get out of there and get well!

I’ve been out of the loop lately on reading blogs, trying to catch up. Some people post prolificly and I have a lot to read. I would like to send you some money to help with your move but I don’t have a coin place that close to me. Would you want me to send it in the snail mail?

This winter has sucked ASS as far as illness goes in this house. Sinus infections, colds, two (TWO) stomach viruses, ear infections and a bad slip-and-fall accident. I’m currently sick (again) and coughing up that lovely green stuff. So is Max (poor kid has green stuff coming from eyes, nose, yellow stuff from his ear, ugh.)
I wonder if we have mold anywhere. I often wonder about the air quality in this house, but really I know it’s my six year old bringing home germ-a-palooza from school. I hope you guys can get OUT of there soon. Very soon.

oh and no, i’m not the one being annoying, saying that about the immunity. just every 40 people said it to me, so i figure i’ve gotta pay it forward or something.

Braden is too gorgeous, I just love him to bits. i’m betting his “sick” is an allergic reaction to mould spores. Ask your chemist maybe if he could recommend a baby antihistamine and see if that works. Then you’d know for sure if he had a cold or an allergy. (antihistamines don’t work for a cold, but they will dry up a runny allergic nose) I have mould and mildew allergy and I take a child sized dose of polaramine almost every day of the year because of all the gardens with their mouldering mulches on the flower beds. Anyway, you’ll be moving soon so things will all be well again.
Sister Sassy
I feel your pain. I was just commenting on how my children were relatively well, but no… not more than 24 hours after I said that did they start coughing, snotting and all that good junk. It just happens. Hang in there, it’s almost spring.

Too. Cute.
I was at the doctor’s office yesterday (still feeling “sick,” but there’s nothing wrong with me that they can determine). I amused myself my taking pictures of the freakishly long pen at reception and of myself in my lovely paper shirt. I felt silly at being “caught” by the doctor, but I guess I was just trying to find the Happy.

The resilience of kids never ceases to amaze me. Our youngest is four and the only way we know when he’s sick is if he happens to have a fever. Otherwise, he’s tearing around the house, business as usual. Well, the night he fell asleep on my chest in bed, then woke me up with the 105 fever was a tad different. I thought I was on fire.

Finding the happy is something children are definitely better at than adults. A pile of manure may be an indication that there is a pony somewhere, but the pony and the horse sh*t aren’t necessarily in the same neighborhood – both are imminently portable. lol

Wow. I just caught up with everything after a few days away. So sorry to hear about everything you’re going through. Doesn’t there have to be some legal tenants association or something that could help you make this guy do what’s right? Slum lord law or something? I’m sure you’ve tried everything you can think of.
Let us know how we can help – we’d be happy to.

I, like Dawn, didn’t say anything about the allusion (ha!) because I was a little afraid to appear ass-ish.
However, I have very strong editing genes that come from my mother, and they want me to point out that it’s actually…”now with FEWER spelling errors.”
*cringe* Sorry. I can’t help myself sometimes.
