They reflect times we may have forgotten.

Kids, that is.

I’ve been spending more and more time with my son outside lately, as the weather has improved steadily.

I love being outside in the warmth and the sunshine.  It makes me feel alive in a way that nothing else does.  In Spring, it is especially enjoyable.  I can look around and see the green of the grass and the trees, the blue of the sky; I can feel the warmth of the sun, and I can smell that sweet scent that wafts on the breeze that tells you things are growing and blooming all around.

Braden feels that joy, too.  Nothing excites him like the prospect of going outside.

Today after his nap, still groggy and clinging to my side after coming downstairs, he said to me, “go ow-sigh.”

And so we did, again.  And I watched him play and enjoy himself.  And I wondered if he would always like being outside like this.

And I thought about why I like being outside so much.

And I remembered.

Sometimes, they reflect things.

Life is good.

I think that’s what I’m MOST looking forward to when our son arrives: remembering the little joys, like just being outside and enjoying it. And not needing a bunch of stuff to be happy, either.

After so many wonderful pictures of Braden, I sure do recognize that smile. You couldn’t deny that child if you tried!

My kids love being outside too. Although, I do think they must be slightly crazy when the temperature is only 57 degrees and they come in begging to run through the sprinklers because they are “boiling!” Yeah, right!

Yeah – then the pollen starts tickling mynose, and I remember why I hate spring LOL

I think this is a boy thing. My son LOVES to be outside, and will entertain himself out there for hours; my daughter? Not so much…She will play outside, but not nearly as long as he will. But it could be a personality thing…
