    Well written.

It’s funny the things we remember. I could describe my grandparents’ houses (both sides of the family) and my great-grandfather, and he died (and they moved) when I was about 3.

Lotus this is perhaps your best writing yet. Here and there a few blemishes but overall a really beautiful piece.

  • Lovely piece Lotus. And as much as I want to concentrate on what you have to say in that piece, I am totally distracted and in awe of the eyes of the little girl you were. I look into those eyes and I see Lotus in there.

  • Absolutely stunning. I love the desperation that I could feel in that piece. That longing to hold onto that moment for a while longer.

    Well done

  • That was interesting to read.
Now here is an interesting piece of information: I heard that if you spend too long in the bath water, the scum that you scrubbed off will stick back on your body again. Oooh! I choose to ignore this information though when I am in the tub with my bubbles.

  • Have you ever read Ray Bradbury’s short story “The Playground”? This reminds me of that, though not as dark.

  • I read once that some outrageous amount, like 75% of memories are created from pictures and what people have told us, not what we actually remember. It makes me want to video every day activities for my daughter so she can remember the good ole days!
