April 7th, 2009, Madeline Alice Spohr unexpectedly passed away. Now, people all over are coming together to honor her and her family. This post will show you a few ways you can do the same.
People around the country are organizing teams to walk in Maddie’s honor at their upcoming March of Dimes Walks. It is so easy for you to join in. Just sign up with the team close to you and go walk that day.

*Organizers: please inform me of your teams so I can add them.
If you want to join one of these teams and walk for Maddie – please make sure you click over to the team page and sign up to join that team, so that you’ll be on the roster. It’s very easy and free, so make sure you complete that step so each team knows who’s walking with them!
It will ask you to enter an amount as you goal when you sign up. Just enter anything – you can edit it later if you want. Don’t sweat that part, just throw something down and sign on.

I was just on her website last night, noticing how close she was to her goal. And I was just so sure Maddie’d be home from the hospital in no time. It’s just so tragic.
Thanks so much for committing to walk! I think before the end of the night there will even be tshirts available to purchase to wear for her during the walk, with proceeds going to the Spohrs/MoD.

Wow, SO sad, just awful. I just signed up for the Los Angeles march & will look into the details and post about it in the morning when I can see straight. This family is in MY city. It’s easy to let things go by – lots of tragedy in the world – but I just think – what if this were my baby? How much would it mean to have so much support coming out of the woodwork, from people you don’t even know? It hit home for me. I’ll be there.

I downloaded it to my computer from her donation page, then I stuck it on the Team Maddie page as well as my personal MoD page. Was the only way to get it to go on the badge once I’d registered.

I started a team called Jax For Maddie in the First Coast (Jacksonville, FL) march. I’m still not positive I’ll be able to go, but I’m hoping I will. And I’m hoping that someone else will join the team now that it exists, so that if I can’t walk for Maddie, someone here will.

You are listed on the blog list of Angie at Keep Believing. You know that she lost her husband to cancer on March 17. Angie and Brian would have celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary on April 19. I am hoping that I can get everyone in her blog list to post on their blogs at 12:00 am on April 19 a post with the title “Keep Believing” so that when she opens her blog, her blog list is filled with recent posts all titled “Keep Believing”. I don’t know how else to arrange this other than commenting on blogs, so forgive my off-topic comment. Thank you for posting this information. We had initially scrapped our plans to walk this year (we walk every year) as I was going to be out of town speaking at a conference on the date that our city was walking. I came here thinking that I wouldn’t be able to find one to walk in and found that my hometown city has a team on a weekend that I can attend.
So, thank you. MoD has been important to our family for years. But we’ll be walking for Maddie this year. Thank you.

We are marching for Maddie in Sacramento but so far our team has only got three members! I know there are a lot of people touched by Maddie in the greater Sacramento area, join our team!!!!!!
