Welcome back, Pee-Dog!

If you’ve been reading here for awhile, you know that we have a small rat fur-pest dog – a lil’ Chihuahua whose name is Zack, but who we lovingly refer to as “The Mexican.”

Like Braden, he survives in our household because he is very, very cute.

Buddies

But his cuteness could not surpass the high level of vomiticousness that was his constant need to piss on everything we own.  Over and over again we tried to be patient and train him, to no avail.  When we moved again, we decided to try living Pee Free.

And the dog went outside.

06.18.08 gratitude

Collective “Awwwww, poor little thing!”

Yeah, your life wasn’t Urine-Rageous.

And yet, as the cold weather came upon us recently, my cold, black coal of a heart softened and grew, much like The Grinch’s.

And The Mexican didn’t even have to sing an obnoxious song.

Oh wait!  YES HE DID.  He started howling and yipping outside constantly.

Another collective, “Awwwww!”

So the Furniture Pissing
Urine Stain

Poop Eating…
Poop Eater

Paci-Chewing
The Destruction

Jerk-Faced Dog has somehow made it back into our home full time.

So far, he’s doing well.  We’ll see how it goes.

Of course, Braden LOVES him and is delighted to have him inside.

10.29.08 A Boy & His Dog

And that’s what REALLY keeps him alive.

Otherwise, I’d have nuked him long ago.

He Fits, I Told You

  • Aww, The Mexican is sooo cute~even if he did have a problem learning where to urinate!

I can SO relate to this post though. Remember our dog Chloe (who coincidentally I said could be The Mexican’s bride!) that we got a couple months ago? She began as an inside dog & the previous owners who gave her to us (because Bobby sent he hubby, who’s a plumber, some business) said she was “house trained”.

WELL, that lasted all of a good week, if that. And, I realize that it was different surroundings & she had to get used to it. But come on~we know she could pee & poop on the doggie pads~because she did. But then, she began peeing/pooping everywhere & not on the pads.

Then, Justin began coughing uncontrollably because Chloe slept w/him & we figured out it was triggering his asthma & that he is allergic to her. So, we decided to do the next best thing~we put her in the garage w/our cat Oliver. They sleep in there & we take Chloe out several times a day so she won’t get cabin fever. That arrangement is working out great.

I’m glad it’s working out w/The Mexican being back inside & I’m sure Braden is eating that up ;) ♥ all the pics of The Mexican & look how little Braden is in that 1st one! Did that not freak The Mexican out being in the microwave?!? It make for a funny pic though~just sayin’ :)

  • Wait, wait, wait. The Mexican has a real name other than just The Mexican? I had no idea. Braden’s smile petting the pee-dog is perhaps one of my favorite shots yet. Really. Very sweet.

  • that last picture was priceless. i do wonder how many nasty messages you will get from people about it though! sometimes you have to threaten them to get them to do what you want. i understand. if my 9 year old could fit in the microwave i would have tried that threat myself! now i wonder how many nasty messages i will get because of this comment!

I think you’re going to have to do some serious house training if the mexican is going to be living inside again…..

  • Wait, are you sure The Mexican and Seven aren’t related? Because seriously, end of my tether here.

Our dogs are now banished to non-carpeted areas of the new home. Poor babies! Poor, pissy little babies.

  • We had a pee dog, too. He liked pillows, in particular.
We got him fixed, and presto! It was like we brought home a brand new doggah.
Also, love the microwave picture. Love it.

  • Hope no one from the ASPC (or what ever the letters are for the people who don’t want you hurting animals) doesn’t get hold of that picture of *the Mexican*. You would be in a heap of trouble. —- Personally I think it is funny. We had a cat that I would have loved to have done that to at times myself.

  • Thus the reason our microwave has always been above the stove – way out of reach of three boys, and the resulting biological experimentation that could have occurred. I wish I could say the same for the blender. Don’t ask.

My friend has a cat that pees in her husband’s sink all the time. The husband put up duct tape over the sink and a sign “CAT – DO NOT PEE HERE” to no avail. I think it knows what buttons can be pushed.

If our dog would fit into our microwave I would sooooo take pictures of him and put them on my blog. Since he weighs 92 lbs I probably shouldn’t attempt it. Or should I…?

  • This was a desperate plea for advice wasn’t it? WELL LUCKY YOU!

We took an aluminum can, put some pennies in it, and labeled it “Frodo’s Bad Boy Can”. We shook it in the dog’s direction every time he did something that pisses us off. It took about 3 days of being very consistent, and now he’s a good dog!

  • Yeah – we have a miniature dachshund that was banished to the outside long ago and has stayed there. He’s so ornery they couldn’t even get him sedated to neuter him (we had heard that that helps with temperament and peeing everywhere). So he remains unsnipped and outdoors. He has a closed-in porch where he can escape the weather into his kennel and blanket, so he doesn’t garner enough sympathy to gain entrance to the house where even the bathrooms are carpeted (YUK!!!!).

  • We had a miniature pinscher, he was adorable and we loved him much—but, he pee’d and pooped all over the house; he got into the kitchen trash can EVERY night; he claimed one corner of the sofa and if we had company he would get on their lap and put his doggy arse in their face if it was his bedtime and they were still sitting there. The final straw was when we had new carpet installed, and the first morning he left us a poopy present right at the bottom of the stairs. THAT was the day I called the vet and asked him to find Buddy a new home.

  • Aw…I’m so glad to see that he made it back into your heart…I mean home! And I’m so grateful that we don’t have pee problems with Gracie, our little Mexican. Part of what we do to make sure that she doesn’t have any accidents on the carpet or furniture is by keeping her in the kitchen when we’re away. We even put up a baby gate, which is so appropriate because she is totally my little baby :~)
