For some reason, the really cute widget that lets you see the alien baby in my uterus right now is being CRAPPY and it’s not working properly in the post. “No Widget Found,” it stupidly proclaims, when I try to include it in my post.
So click over to the website and look at my sidebar so you can Peeping Tom my uterus.
And you know you want to. Come on. Admit it.
It’s official – this lil’sprout is very, very new! The pregnancy is considered to be 5 weeks along, although the baby has only been growing for 3 weeks. (It has always annoyed me that the extra time b/w first day of last period and date of actual conception are added. That is NOT how old my baby is, you crazy fools!)
*ahem*
So, like I was saying, Baby Number Two is 3 Weeks old.
Due dates are pretty notorious for actually meaning “this is the time of year AROUND WHICH your baby will be born.” So, with that in mind, our official due date for Baby #2 is December 24, 2008.
Yes. Christmas Eve.
Please, save your groans. If your birthday is in December and it has ruined your life b/c of the whole Christmas gifts instead of Birthday gifts/No one really cares about my birthday,Waaah! Thing, please save all your reprimands for someone else. Someone who won’t think long and hard about mailing you a box o’ dog poop.
Honestly, I’ve been talking about mailing someone a box of dog poop for irritating me in some way or another for years now, people. For YEARS. And I have yet to do it!
Don’t pick Pregnancy Time to test me.
(By the way, have I ever mentioned that I become a totally defensive, boorish, fight-picking hag when I’m pregnant? No? Well, I do.)
*pause*
(Ok, so I just have something to blame my usual personality on when I’m actually pregnant. SHUT.UP.)
So, yes. I’ve worried a little bit that my kid will be very annoyed with me for letting Daddy “bang me and knock me up” at this time of year.
But in the end, I’m sure I will do SO MANY MORE things that he/she will hate me for.
So, I’m going with not caring about this one right now.
Cool? Cool.
Now give me something to eat. I’M STARVING.

First off, congratulations again
Second, I have a birthday in December, and I honestly love it. Every year until I graduated high school I got my birthday off, because of snow (except when I lived in FL, but that was K and 1st, so I don’t even remember that, xD).
My parents always made a big “to do” for my birthday so that I knew it was special and my own, and not part of the Christmas holidays. The tradition continued with my cousin, who was born the day after Christmas. Her day was always separate, and has stayed that way
Congrats again

I’m like you it has always annoye me too that they count those first two weeks when there is NOTHING GROWING NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING.
And I always had a really good idea of when we conceived so I insisted on stating th actual weeks instead of that arbitrary number the doctor thought it might be. I knew my body damn it.

OK, so you start designing your baby announcements now, make sure you’ve got all the envelopes stamped, addressed and ready to go…
Design something digitally to send out to everybody, so you can just add all the pertinent information at the last second and then send it to your one-hour-photo lab to print …
and you’ll have the BEST Christmas Cards ever!!! Baby in a Santa Hat… baby in a christmas stocking… cuteness, cuteness, cuteness!!!

Sorry, I have to post again.
I just reloaded your page, and let me tell you – it is a DARN GOOD thing that the widget isn’t really a real view into your belly! Because when I reloaded, that baby was doing some funky-ass chicken dance, and half hanging out of your uterus with so much flickering, it seemed like there was a strobe light in the womb.
It was one of the weirdest things I’ve seen in a REALLY long time.

My birthday is January 7th and Emma’s birthday is January 3rd. When I was pregnant, I recall a few “friends” who just HAD to mention how much it will suck for my child to be born so close to Christmas and one even said: “I would hate to have a winter baby.” I like to think that these were driven by jealousy. But, at the time, the comments hurt. I was like: “God! I’m getting jabbed for my parenting choices already and my child doesn’t even have a full formed brain or gentials yet!” But, then I realized that I would much rather be stuck inside all day with a newborn during the winter rather than in the summer! In the winter in Indiana, you are pretty much inside all day anyway. Emma was conceived either April 29th or May 1 and we got our positive pregnancy test (very faint) on May 10th. So, I was seriously 9 days pregnant when I found out. I do think it makes for a longer pregnancy but I loved knowing so soon! Much love to your little bean!

I have to tell you, there used to be a website where you could order poop and have it mailed to someone. They had dog, horse, pig, etc. It was hilarious!
Apparently they had to stop doing it, as mailing poop is illegal.

Incidentally, my dad told me when I got preg w/#2 that “This is the time to have a baby – this is the better birthday.” WHAT??!! His birthday is Nov 27 (we were shooting for dd to be born on his birthday, but missed by three days).

My oldest son ( now 10 ) was due to be born on Dec. 24, 1997. He didn’t show up until 6 days after his due date, but I will tell you that had he been born on Christmas eve that I was going to name him Nick ( as in Jolly Old Saint ). That alone was the reason, I believe, that he waited to make an appearance until a day that I could’nt give him a name that had everything to do with Christmas and nothing to do with being who he really is!

There are many positive things about having a birthday on December 24. (1. my birthday is that day!) 2. you always get to see your whole family on or near your birthday. 3. you get more presents than everyone on christmas. 4. (this is my favorite) You will be perfect because hey you’re practically Jesus.
*Dear Lord, forgive me for blasphemy.

LOL… I had my second a couple of weeks after Christmas. Here are the benefits:
1. You don’t like going to your husbands little hick town for he holidays? Oooooops. No travel for you. You’re too pregnant. I know you’re sad.
2. Hate to cook the holiday meals? Darn. You’re too pregnant. Truly upsetting.
3. Hate Christmas shopping? You’ve been too pregnant for a while for that one. Guess the husband has to do it. Shoot.
4. Hate the Christmas cleaning because company’s coming over? Way, way to pregnant for that. Ahhhhh the humanity!
5. Love re-runs of “The Christmas Story” Awesome! You totally get to do that one. Over, and over, and over again. Yeah baby!
OK…that’s all I’ve got for now. Enjoy yourself! And Congrats once again.

Your baby will not care when his/her birthday is. My sister has a December birthday and she never cared if her presents were wrapped in Christmas paper. I remember one year she even had Santa cupcakes at her party. It will just make that time of the year that much more exciting for the child. I am so excited about all to come for you these next few months! How are you feeling? Do you suffer from the horrible nausea? I don’t wish that on anyone!!

We’ve got a couple of December babes in our family, but we are equal opportunity gifters. (ie- they get their own party, even the one whose BDay is on the 23rd) No whining allowed. As for the widget baby – cute in a creepy way – wish I’d had one when I was preggers w/ my little puke-monster. (For the first seven months I thought he was trying to kill me from the inside out!) It would have been nice to have a virtual tadpole to -ahem- blame.

My son’s due date was Christmas Eve also. He was so big when I went to my last Dr.’s app. and the weather had been icy and bad that the Dr. let me come in one week early to induce labor. I’m so glad they did because he weighed 9 lbs. even and I was a small person (only 103 lbs. before pregnancy). But he was my easiest delivery. He had been in perfect position for a good month and I had been dilated to 3 cm for that long too. We always had to drive 1 hour to get to the hospital and that made a difference for us too. I have never planned my pregnancies like some people. It never crossed my mind.

Hey my kid was born on Dec. 24…oh wait, sorry, I just got wrapped up in everyone else saying something along those lines
But I did want to say that God must think pretty highly of you and John. Think about it: He’s blessing you with ANOTHER baby, even though you were amazingly blessed to have one at all AND he wants that baby to be somewhat close to sharing a birthday with Jesus. God only gives the late December birthdays to the babies He likes best

Lotus, congratulations!!!!
My birthday is just before Christmas, and it’s never bothered me in the LEAST. My parents made an effort to ensure my birthday was always a separate event and that people knew not to “double up” gifts on me, and I never thought twice about it. Now that I’m older, Christmas does overshadow my birthday in my own mind, because I have a child and that makes Christmas so exciting to me, but that’s MY choice. You’re such great parents I know that if that baby is born on Christmas day, it will believe it’s the luckiest kid in the world.

My sister was born Christmas Day. She loves having a Christmas birthday. Our parents did a couple things that made it a good day for her. 1 – She had a birthday present that was NOT wrapped in Christmas paper nor placed under the tree (nor did I have one to match it). 2 – On Christmas evening, when the excitement of the day had passed and the let-down was setting in Mom brought out the birthday cake and ice cream and we celebrated her birthday. She was actually born about 7:00 pm so it was totally appropriate. It always seemed the perfect way to round out the day.
I am very happy for you and send good wishes for an easy pregnancy.

Well, I was just going to read your post in Bloglines, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to peer into your uterus. That cartoon-baby looks kind of… dinosaury, but I’m sure yours will be absolutely adorable. Some of us just don’t photograph so well.
My Firstborn’s birthday is December 15th. Turns out, it’s not that big a problem.
Congratulations!

My 3rd was due Christmas Day but born on the 17th. No signs of psychological damage from her birthdate so far- other stuff yes, time of year born no.

Three cheers (or four?) for the alien apple seed! Now you must name it after your first craving. Cheeto’s legacy must live on.

My son was due on the 31st of December and I got all those comments too. He was actually born on the 27th and seems to love his birthday
He thinks December is present month LOL.

My birthday is December 20th. December birthdays are the best! The whole world decorates. There are presents everywhere, lights, fat men in red suits. Wait…that stuff is for Christmas? Hmph. Oh well, I’ve still got the big red stocking they put me in for the bassinet in the hospital nursery. Maybe your baby will get one too!

I love your floating nugget! Actually he/she looks a bit cashew-like, but is so precious
My cousin was born on Christmas day. He’s the sweetest kid, and loves having his birthday part of such a festive time of year.
Pregnancy with my daughter actually calmed me down a bit. No wonder hubby constantly wants to knock me up!

The probability of baby being born on Christmas or Christmas Eve is slim. And if you make a big deal out of birthdays the kid won’t care how close it is to Christmas. No biggie!
Yeah for a due date!

Getting knocked up any time of year is a blessing,IMHO. Little G was due January 16 but she wanted out early 3 days before Christmas actually. I plan to celebrate her birthday early once she starts school. No big deal.
We’ve got a slew of December babies in the family, and everyone’s turned out just fine.

Yeah! Congrats. My dear youngest boy was due on December 25 and joined the world on the 15th. We are just saving an extra little bit for his therapy when he gets older. Seriously, it is great! What a fun Christmas present…and by the way, you can totally use the “I’m almost about to give birth” excuse to get out of anything this holiday season…use it wisely.

Boog’s birthday is 12/29 so yeah I feel your pain and I can’t tell you how many freakin times I had people say something like “aw, a christmas baby, poor thing, why did y’all do that” Because we tried for a freakin’ year and we’ll take what we can get, jackass.
Basically you know cause we all have control over these sorts of things.
And let me tell you, December is a fine time to have a baby.
